ABOUT
I started Jim Paul Productions (previously White Light) in 2023 after acting in a film by a Madrid group called Let’s Sketch. I was also teaching acting classes in London and Madrid and my student/actors would record parts of the class and exercises with their phones. I realized that’s something I could be providing. Quality is important so I worked to improve the quality of my videos by following on-line tutorials and getting advice from friends “in the business”. Also by making stuff. Lots of stuff - little dramas, video portraits, interviews, comedy, travelogues - anything that involves recording impressions and stories. Technological changes like AI assisted editing, drones, advanced phones, cameras, gimbals, and the youtube universal stage bestow incredible power, possibly to make money but definitely to create entertainment for the long tails - places where niche interests and experimental film can find an audience. I prefer working with a cast and crew, as opposed to solo works, because it puts me in close contact with exceptionally people. My career is running my computer consulting company where my training in acting helps me market myself - speaking at trade shows and writing for computer magazines. Business has taught me to value conscientiousness as much as talent. My mission is to work with others to jointly develop and express our God given talents. Lets create something beautiful together. Nina Beni, who appears in “Last Night in San Miguel” has joined the team as casting director. Being a life long professional actress herself she understands the business from an actor’s perspective.

OUR 2026 PROJECTS
We are developing a series of three short films centered around compelling, actor-driven storytelling inspired by classic cinema. These will be shot in the Cincinnati area.
The first film will consist of three scenes from iconic classic movies, recreated with a fresh interpretation that highlights performance, character, and cinematic atmosphere.
Our intention is to work with the same actors across three short films, releasing one in June, one in September, and one in December. We are building a team which can reliably produce quality films. That said, we understand that circumstances can change for both actors and producers as life can get in the way, but we are looking for commitment.
Casting will be based on talent, suitability for the roles within the overall project, and the professional work ethic actors bring to the process.

This is an independent, festival-oriented project, and while it is not a fully financed production, each actor will receive a small financial gift as compensation for their participation. The focus of the project is to create high-quality material suitable for festival submissions and strong portfolio pieces for everyone involved.
In return, we value transparency and open communication.
If an actor becomes involved in conversations for a larger role or needs to step away from the project, we completely understand—opportunities should always be pursued. We simply ask to be kept informed as early as possible (ideally at least 45 days before the scheduled shoot) so that we can respect everyone’s time and work.
Likewise, if from the production side we decide not to continue collaborating with an actor for a following short film, the actor will be notified promptly and respectfully.
The goal of this project is to create a professional, collaborative environment where everyone’s contribution is valued, and where the final films can become meaningful creative pieces and strong festival material for all participants.
